In Ted Cruz's campaign ad, he portrays the image of an idealistic and high achieving conservative. He assures the audience that he'll reestablish America's leadership and make our country great again by sticking to real conservative principles. He uses many techniques, such as the plain folk appeal, glittering generalities and the transfer to convince the audience that he is the one candidate that will bring about the change we so badly need.

Donald Trump’s campaign ad is all about portraying Trump as the savior of America, who will come in and fix everything. He uses glittering generalities when he discusses his plans as president. The title, “Make America Great Again,” is a generality in itself as it is a vague and general statement. Trump also says things like he will “make military so strong that no one will want to mess with us” or that Obama care “will be replaced with something much better.” Trump does not actually state any of his plans, but he still wants to fix problems. He portrays himself as a down to earth person who is going to fix everything, without stating how he will do it. He has so many ambitions, but does not actually explain how he will do accomplish them. Additionally, he uses name calling and says, “My opponents have no experience in creating jobs or making deals.” He bashes his opponents, who unlike himself do not know how to run a country. They do not know how to fix America. Right at the end of his message, he sneaks in, “together we are going to make America great again.” He drags the people in saying he cannot do it without them. Together, they will conquer all the problems.

Hillary Clinton starts her Ad with a plain folk apeal, she says,"I'm just a grandmother"..... which is actually ironic since she is probably the most experienced politician in this presidential election. Nobody thinks she's just a grandmother.
